Why You Must Have Your APPROVED RSA
- Meet Mandatory Requirements for employment in licensed venues:
- Brisbane City Council venues licensed after 1AM
- QLD state-wide new regulations due to commence January 2009 (date to be confirmed)
- Licensed Venue House Policies
- Understand your rights and responsibilities in regards to providing alcohol to others (eg Volunteers, House Parties etc).
- Update your knowledge, and ensure your RSA is valid:
- RSA valid for 3 years within QLD
- Interstate RSA certificates are not recognised
When Should You Do Your APPROVED RSA
- In preparation for seeking work in licensed venues
- New staff have 30 days to complete training, from 1st day of employment with licensed premises (Brisbane City Council venues only).
- Before your current Approved certificate expires
Who Should Do An APPROVED RSA
- Anyone who works in paid employment at a licensed premises - staff on duty at any time, engaged in the supply/service of alcohol, including:
- Licensees, Nominees, Managers, Crowd Controllers, Bar Attendants, Glass Collectors, Bottleshop / Drive-Through Attendants, Hosts / Hostesses, etc.

This 5 hour course is recommended for all servers of alcohol and is Nationally Recognised Training:
- Responsible service of alcohol
- Minors
- Unduly intoxicated and disorderly patrons
- Security
- Staff training
- Promotional activities
- Responsible hospitality practices
- Noise management
- Community and industry consultation regarding the conduct of the business
- Compliance with the Liquor Act 1992 and other laws
