The Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 is the definitive Queensland legislation covering the sale of tobacco in retail environments and smoking on licensed premises, amongst other things.
Smoking within enclosed areas in hotels and clubs was banned completely in 2006. However, there are provisions that allow smoking in a Designated Outdoor Smoking Area (DOSA) set up within the external licensed area of a hotel.
